Job Summary

This role is responsible for managing the tracking and management of all payor agreements within all territories. The role supports the Network Development and Credentialing teams as it relates to contracting, credentialing, process of systems improvement, systems design coordination, and implementation and ongoing maintenance of contracts and credentialing-related initiatives, including Enterprise initiatives as instructed by the Executive team. This role also requires regular consultative contact with cross functional stakeholders, both internally and externally, as it pertains Cano initiatives and as instructed by the Executive team within the designated territory to build rapport, and to fully understand local market dynamics.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Contracting, Network Development and Credentialing teams to manage, and facilitate accuracy of payor and physician networks.
  • Collaborate with the Contracting and Network Development teams and respective Cano stakeholders, as instructed, to ensure that cost-effective contracts are established using known company best practices.
  • Plan, organize, and implement effective strategies using all company programs and tools, in alignment with Company initiatives.
  • Document all applicable contractual agreements
  • Maintain professional and consistent communication with all applicable departments.
  • Attend all meetings, conventions, seminars, and training programs as instructed by the Executive team.
  • Respond in a professional fashion to contracting concerns, executing follow up actions to ensure physician and/or payor issues/opportunities are communicated to appropriate departments.
  • Maintain accountability for adherence to company and divisional organization policies and procedures.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
  • Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that follows all Company policies and procedures currently or to be implemented in the future.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Will supervise front-line Contracts Administration personnel, as assigned.

Critical Results

  • Implementing functional contract management system by end of Q4 2023.
  • Using system to establish and to track Contracting / Strategy KPIs for the performance year.
  • Establishing a comprehensive contracting status dashboard to illuminate the process phase of any agreement flowing through the system by end of Q4 2023.
  • Maintain a comprehensive repository of all historical document images, using a standardized naming convention and replicate a like repository for any new Agreements or Amendments added by end of Q3 2023.
  • Develop standardized user reports to inform management of attributes associated with housed contracts (examples include but are not limited to the following: risk contracts by geography; percent of premium standards within a certain market; the extent of ceded risk within a region; responsibility for stoploss coverage, etc.)
  • Using Contract Logix's system dynamics to automate workflow among internal stakeholders for the purpose of increasing communication among internal parties. Complete CLX workflow training of internal stakeholders on the workflow by end of Q3 2023.

Best Practices

  • Allow for a methodical phase out of the existing contract management system with a replacement to Contract Logix while keeping all internal parties aware of the benefits of the new system.
  • Manage system integrity from a security perspective and ensure that user permissions and systems access is rationalized and monitored judiciously.
  • Meet with internal parties to determine incremental system enhancements, workflow revisions, etc. to ensure that the system is working at peak capacity and remains scalable.
  • Develop a training protocol for CLX newly designated Users, for initial systems training and refresher training, and a User Guide to assist existing Users with troubleshooting to ensure optimal, uninterrupted use of the system and system workflow.
  • Outreach may be required CLX stakeholders to ensure timely action on assigned responsibilities as it relates to the contracts Workflow

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's level education with an emphasis in a relevant field of study, such as business or health services administration and/or the equivalent of 3+ years' experience in managed care, primary care provider relationships, credentialing and payor agreements is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel-basic mathematical formulas, charts, tables) and Power Point is strongly desired.
  • Strong third-party vendor operating procedures and practices.
  • Working knowledge of Contract Logix is strongly desired.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of prevailing managed care contracts and contracting methodologies.
  • Ability to manage significant workload, and to work efficiently under pressure to meet established deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication for representation of clear and concise results.
  • Strong follow-up skills & organizational skills required.
  • The candidate should understand the financial implications of contracting initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel-basic mathematical formulas, charts, tables) and presentation applications
  • Must possess a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and dependability.

Physical Requirements

This position works under usual office conditions. The employee is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
