Job Description

The Manager, IT Finance proactively leads technology spend reporting and cost modeling responsibilities within the Financial Planning & Analysis group, partnering closely with IT and business leaders to improve cost tracking visibility, deliver timely insights, and drive decision-making. This individual will play a critical role in supporting IT investment decisions in an environment where annual tech spend has scaled rapidly. This is a new role for the organization, reports to a Senior Director, and will serve as the financial lead interfacing with the CIO and IT project teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the dedicated finance partner to the IT function, embedded within FP&A
  • Build and own the IT annual spend budget, incorporating labor, software, systems, and third-party development
  • Develop and maintain a deep set of KPIs and cost drivers to support the "P x Q" structure of project estimates
  • Enable tracking and accountability of IT development projects through metric-driven modeling
  • Evaluate and challenge investment proposals; support capital approval processes with robust financial justification
  • Partner with IT leaders to cost out scrum teams and development initiatives
  • Conduct monthly variance analyses and scenario planning tied to major IT programs
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, IT, and department leaders to improve cost transparency, cost allocation logic, and spend governance
  • Interface with the capital committee and executive leadership on IT budget strategy and oversight
  • Create and deliver presentations (charts/graphs/tables) for the Senior Leadership Team and other stakeholders, highlighting drivers, implications, and recommended actions
  • Leverage and enhance tools (Cognos, Oracle ERP, Excel, and/or SQL where applicable) to automate reporting, streamline processes, and reduce manual effort

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or General Business
  • 5+ years in FP&A or corporate finance, with direct experience supporting IT or product development groups
  • Proven ability to model complex, project-based costs—ideally in agile, SaaS, or tech-enabled environments
  • Strong command of Excel and driver-based financial modeling
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Skilled in working with technical leaders and holding stakeholders accountable
  • Comfortable acting independently while contributing to a broader FP&A structure
  • Familiar with agile team roles, project scoping, and capital planning workflows
  • SQL knowledge a plus; ability to pull/validate data and improve reporting pipelines
  • Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
