GEICO is seeking a strategic and results-driven professional to co-lead our Outside Counsel Panel Management function related to Claims. This role will focus on optimizing the use of outside counsel through effective technology solutions, rate negotiations, and relationship management. The Manager will play a key role in ensuring cost efficiency, compliance, and strong partnerships across our legal ecosystem. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Legal Strategic Operations, this position will collaborate closely with stakeholders in Claims, Supplier Management, Technology, and Finance to drive initiatives that enhance performance and value from our outside counsel network.
Essential Functions:
Lead and oversee the administration and optimization of outside counsel management technology platforms, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Manage law firm onboarding, rate negotiations, and invoice review processes to align with organizational objectives and cost-control strategies.
Establish and enforce best practices for governance, reporting, and performance monitoring across the outside counsel network.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and implementing innovative solutions to enhance legal spend management and strengthen vendor relationships.
Manage panel development initiatives, including RFP coordination and leveraging data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and panel performance evaluation.
Provide leadership in analytics, ensuring actionable insights for budgeting, forecasting, and relationship management.
Maintain a high level of organizational agility, balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while delivering measurable results.
Basic Requirements:
Experience with legal billing, LEDES files, e-Billing systems
Well organized with good verbal and written communication skills
4-year degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Law or related field
Minimum 3 year experience
Preferred corporate legal department or law firm experience
Preferred experience in financial services or insurance industry

Annual Salary
$104,550.00 - $186,550.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
