ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager, Strategic Communications plays a central role in shaping and advancing Hut 8’s corporate narrative. This role is responsible for translating complex subjects including energy markets, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and financial markets into clear, compelling stories that resonate with key audiences including media, investors, customers, and industry partners.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer with strong news judgment and deep experience working with top tier business and trade media. This person will help elevate Hut 8’s public voice by developing impactful thought leadership for senior executives and ensuring the company’s perspective is clearly understood in critical industry conversations.This role sits at the intersection of storytelling, media engagement, and executive communications.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and refine Hut 8’s corporate narrative across earned, owned, and internal communications channels.
• Write and edit high-impact communications materials including press releases, executive messaging, media statements, and internal communications.
• Partner closely with senior leadership to develop thought leadership that shapes conversations across energy, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and financial markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with influential reporters across business, technology, and energy media.
• Lead proactive media outreach and manage inbound press inquiries with strong editorial judgment.
• Translate complex technical and market topics into clear, compelling language that resonates with investors, customers, and industry stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross functional messaging to ensure clarity and consistency across the organization.
• Monitor media coverage and industry narratives to identify opportunities for Hut 8 to contribute to important conversations.
• Partner with external agencies and internal teams to support strategic communications initiatives.

ABOUT YOU

• 5 to 7 years of experience in communications, media relations, journalism, or a related field.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to distill complex topics into clear and compelling narratives.
• Experience working with top tier business, technology, and energy media outlets.
• Prior experience developing executive communications and thought leadership for senior leaders.
• Strong understanding of how newsrooms operate and what drives compelling media coverage.
• Background in journalism is strongly valued, particularly experience at a business news outlet or respected industry publication.
• Experience covering or working within energy, technology, digital infrastructure, or financial markets is preferred.
• Strategic thinker who understands how communications can shape perception and support business goals.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
