Job Description

JM Family Enterprises is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineering Manager to join our Southeast Toyota Finance Data Engineering team. The Data Engineering Manager leads and develops a high-performing team in charge of delivering scalable, reliable, and well-governed data solutions that support the company's strategic goals. This role blends people leadership, technical direction, and strategic thinking to translate business needs into effective data solutions.

This is an onsite/hybrid role from our Deerfield Beach campus in South Florida.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers and modelers, providing technical guidance, best practices, and professional growth while fostering a high-performing team culture

  • Define, implement, and evolve a comprehensive data engineering strategy aligned with business objectives

  • Partner with stakeholders across the company to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs

  • Oversee the design, delivery, and operation of scalable data solutions and processes supporting diverse data sources, aligned with enterprise standards, infrastructure guidelines, and best practices

  • Drive multiple data engineering projects from conception to deployment while managing project timelines, deliverables, and resources effectively

  • Establish and enforce data engineering standards, solution patterns, and best practices

  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and integrity through robust engineering practices and adherence to data governance policies and practices

  • Identify problems, analyze root causes, and implement solutions to improve processes and outcomes

  • Obtain and maintain a deep knowledge of SETF business processes, technologies, and data environments

  • Stay current on industry best practices, new features, capabilities, and updates in Microsoft Azure Synapse and emerging data technologies, and evaluate their potential to enhance the company's data infrastructure

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree in a related field is preferred.

  • 7+ years of SQL in a data-related role

  • 7+ years of data integration and ETL tool experience

  • 3+ years of proven leadership skills with the ability to develop effective teams, hold associates accountable for results, and manage and lead through change

  • Azure cloud platform knowledge required

  • Experience with Agile methodology and Azure DevOps preferred

  • Project management skills to drive data initiatives and ensure timely delivery with quality results in an efficient and effective manner

  • Engages with stakeholders at all levels to encourage collaboration, strategic alignment, and build relationships

  • Embraces innovation and efforts to elevate and evolve processes

  • Demonstrates leadership courage and empowers associates to take ownership and accountability

  • Impressive analytical capabilities, executive presence, critical thinking, and the ability to translate complex data requirements into practical solutions

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience in the automotive or captive finance industry is a plus
