JOB SUMMARY
Job Profile Summary
The Manager, Commercial Development- Crude Oil is responsible for developing and executing the crude oil commercial strategy, leading mergers and acquisitions efforts, overseeing market and basin‑level analytics, and partnering with commercial teams on financial modeling for large capital projects. This role serves as a strategic bridge between market intelligence, corporate development, and crude commercial execution, providing leadership, insight, and disciplined financial analysis to support long‑term value creation.
The position manages and develops analytical talent while maintaining hands‑on involvement in complex commercial, strategic, and transaction‑related initiatives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Develop, refine, and execute the crude oil commercial development strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and market conditions.
Partner with crude commercial teams on the evaluation and execution of large capital projects, ensuring alignment of assumptions, economics, and strategic fit.
Lead crude oil-related mergers and acquisitions, including opportunity identification, commercial evaluation, valuation support, due diligence, and transaction execution.
Oversee market and basin‑level analytics related to crude oil supply, demand, pricing, competitive dynamics, and infrastructure utilization.
Translate market insights and analytical outputs into actionable strategic recommendations for senior leadership and commercial teams.
Manage and develop commercial development analysts, providing leadership, direction, and accountability for analytical and strategic deliverables.
Improve data quality, accessibility, and efficiency through standardized reporting, automation, and enhanced analytical tools.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with commercial, finance, legal, engineering, and executive stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and value creation.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, engineering, business or a related field.
5 to 7+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, strategy or commercial roles.
Oil and gas industry experience preferred but not required.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with robust financial modeling experience.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience supporting executive‑level decision making.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
