Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)

Would you be able to add the following to the "Brief Overview" section: Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Pharmacy, the Home Infusion Pharmacy Manager will lead the development of a home infusion program. They will develop workflows and oversee day-to-day operations for sterile compounding and home-based therapies, collaborating cross-functionally with service line leaders, business operations, and care providers to deliver safe, effective, and timely treatments in the ambulatory setting. The incumbent will ensure rigorous regulatory and quality compliance (e.g. USP , state boards, accreditation), champion medication safety, and drive continuous improvement in clinical outcomes, access, and value. The Manager will recruit, develop, and empower pharmacists and technicians, foster a culture of service excellence, and optimize workforce and resource utilization. Home infusion experience is preferred.

What you will do

  • Interprets and enforces established policies and procedures, creates new policies and procedures, designs and implements performance improvement initiatives that enhance safety, environmental, and infection control.
  • Provides oversight to pharmacy personnel with respect to the goals and objectives of the Pharmacy Department in collaboration with the leadership team to improve services provided and assures compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Design, implement, and monitor pharmacy practices to optimize medication management outcomes for patients.
  • Supervises and manages the technical support staff and staff clinical pharmacists.
  • Participates in Informatics meeting discussions and practice implementation relative to workflow processes to include validation of protocols and ERX records where applicable.
  • Partners across the organization to develop and implement solutions designed to improve member/client satisfaction; streamline processes between organizations for improved service delivery.
  • Reviews department performance, effects changes in collaboration with the pharmacy leadership team to improve services provided and assures compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals to address issues related to patient drug therapy through the process of mutual information sharing, discussion, and decision making.
  • Oversees training programs for pharmacy staff, residents, and students.
  • As necessary, fulfill the duties as the Pharmacist in Charge.

Education Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college or university required

Experience Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required or
  • PGY1 and 3 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required or
  • PGY1 and PGY2 (General) with 1 year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required or
  • PGY1 and PGY2 HSPAL Residency (Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership) completion required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of California State Board of Pharmacy Laws and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Title 22 regulations.
  • Knowledge of eMS regulations, both state and federal.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and Skill in the use of establishing policies and in writing procedures and communication to coworkers.
  • Ability to interpret new laws, guidelines as applied to the practice of Pharmacy.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and guidelines as applicable to the practice of Pharmacy.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Licensed as a Pharmacist by the California Board of Pharmacy required within 120 Days

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $89.01 - $117.94 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
