  • Develops technical and leadership expertise within the team to create a center of engineering excellence, including standardized design disciplines, problem-solving product application, effective communication and technical engineering core competencies. Reviews and approves technical drawings, analyses, processes and engineering changes as needed.

  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and operations teams to integrate electrical systems and firmware into ILI tools.

  • Ensure designs meet industry standards related to hazardous environments, durability, vibration, pressure, and temperature extremes.

  • Support field operations teams during development, deployment, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.

  • Maintain engineering design control documentation, compliance requirements, and revision controls, including authoring and updating standards / procedures for electrical and firmware deliverables.

  • Participate in long‑term technology planning, including sensor development, power optimization, communications systems, and digitalization initiatives.

Experience

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.

  • 10+ years of electrical or hardware engineering experience, ideally with exposure to battery powered data acquisition systems.

  • Experience with firmware architecture and release processes.

  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams or serving in a senior technical leadership role.

  • Strong understanding of embedded electronics, FPGA design, sensor integration, data acquisition, low‑power design, and power management, and firmware considerations.

  • Experience designing electronics for harsh or hazardous environments (vibration, pressure, moisture).

  • Strong project management and cross‑functional leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in oil & gas pipeline inspection, in‑line inspection (ILI) tools, or integrity management equipment.

  • Familiar with engineering tools such as Altium, SolidWorks, Spice or similar.

  • Background in medical devices, data acquisition systems, or field‑deployed instrumentation.

  • Understanding of SCADA, telemetry, or industrial communications.

  • Familiarity with inspection technologies such as MFL, EMAT, eddy current, or other sensor systems (preferred but not required).
