Location: UHealth Tower - East

Works with leadership to determine the optimal allocation of rooms and staff, daily and on each unit. Serves as administrative authority for the smooth functioning of all units as it relates to patient flow and for the UHealth Transfer Center. Notifies administrator, associate administrator, nurse manager or other relevant staff of urgent concerns during the shift. Completes evaluations for employees in the department. Recommends establishment or revisions of policies, and develops organizational structure and standards of performance to ensure legal compliance and high-quality standards. Assists with annual budget preparation by identifying supply and equipment. Reviews schedule to assure that staffing is in place. Maintains a high level of familiarity with systems that support clinical and business functionality. Provides leadership in building loyalty and commitment throughout the department. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in relevant field required; Master's degree preferred

Certification and Licensing:

Registered Nurse Licensing (RN)

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
