Manager - Supply Chain Planning

SUMMARY

The Manager, Supply Chain Planning,leads the team responsible for integrated demand and production planningfor thePolyethylene business unit.The role owns the forecast cycle, supply/supply balancing, and development offeasibleproduction plans aligned with Sales, Operations, and Logistics.The ideal candidate is ahands-onleaderwith a passion for developing others, has strong analytical capabilityand business acumenandunderstands key concepts such as system constraints, inventory optimization, and the valuetradeoffsin plastics,chemicalsor other similar manufacturing supply chain.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

Leadership & TeamManagement

• Lead, coach, and developateam ofanalysts andproductionplanners.

• Ensure consistent planning processes, playbooks, and performance expectations.

• Providedaily/weeklyguidanceon priorities, exceptions, andrisk management.

Sales and Operations Planning

• Lead the S&OP cycleacross allPolyethyleneproductionunits.

• Oversee rolling demand forecastsensureaccuracy, biascontrol, and alignment withmacro environment and sales forecast.

• Facilitatethe monthlydemandreviewsand prepareconsolidatedS&OP.

• Manage production planning consideringeconomic runlengths, grade sequencing, outages, andcapacityconstraints.

• Develop and presentsupply/demand scenarios, risks, and opportunities for monthly executivealignment.

• Driveexecution of the agreedoperating planand communicate supply positions.

Inventory ManagementandFulfillment

• Set andmaintaininventory and safety stock targets.

• Monitorinventoryhealth (turns, aging, SLOB) anddrivemitigation.

• Optimizeinventory positioningacrossdomestic and export channels.

• Develop strategy around turnarounds.  

• Coordinate shipmentsand inventory reconciliation.

Systems, Data, & Process Improvement

• Championplanning systemenhancements andtoolutilization.

• Identifyandleadimprovementin forecast accuracy,schedulingstability, and cycle adherence.

• Buildandmaintaindashboards/KPIssupporting planning performance.

• Maintainplanningmaster dataanddocumentation.

Key Performance Indicators

• Forecast accuracy and bias.

• Production plan adherence and schedule stability.

• Inventory turns,DIO, SLOB.

• OTIF and servicelevels.

• S&OP meeting quality and decision readiness.

EDUCATION,EXPERIENCEAND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or relateddiscipline.

• 10+ years total work experience in supply chain, operations, or business function.

• 2+years experiencein business management or supplychain planning.

• 2+yearspeople leadership.

• Experience in chemicals, plastics, polymers, or product manufacturing.

• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional influence skills.

Preferred

• Master’s degree or MBA.

• Experience withadvanced planning tools.

• APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP).

• KnowledgeofPolyethyleneorsimilarpolymerproduction

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usuallymoderate,as normally based in an office. Some of the work may bein the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  Mayalso result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. 10%travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be.
