Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Impactful Work: Oversee engineering projects that align with business objectives and drive innovation in broadcast technology.Cutting-Edge Technology: Participate in developing our technology roadmap, exploring emerging trends to keep us ahead of the curve.What We’re Looking For:Proven Leadership: Experience leading teams in dynamic settings, with a commitment to a 24/7 live news operation serving as a primary point of contact for addressing time-sensitive and complex maintenance or operational issues.  Must maintain on-call availability for emergencies.Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of broadcast technologies, including RF systems, IP networking, and digital video/audio tech.  Provide hands-on support for the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide range of broadcast equipment and systems. Strategic Thinker: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate challenges and develop effective solutions. Excellent Communicator: Ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.Innovative Mindset: Experience driving innovation and implementing new technologies.Qualifications:

    5+ years in broadcast technology, with 3+ years in a leadership role preferred, not required.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in broadcasting, electronics, computer science, or related field, preferred, not required.

    SBE and IT certifications are a plus.Experience working with and troubleshooting critical broadcast equipment, including:

    Transmission systemsStudio production systems 

    Control room automationGraphics platforms 

    Master control operationsStrong understanding of IP-based video/audio workflows, networking protocols, and cybersecurity best practices

    Familiarity with newsroom computer systems and media asset management systems Knowledge of HDR and SMPTE 2110 standards

    Experience supporting live remote broadcasts using various delivery technologiesDemonstrated communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach technical staff

    Understanding of industry standards, regulations and compliance requirementsAbility to identify and troubleshoot basic facilities-related issues (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)

    Strong grasp of capital and operating budgets and procurement processAbility to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, 24/7 broadcast environment

    Experience working in a union environmentPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 pounds     Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crouch as neededWork Schedule:Full-time, regular schedule with on-call responsibilities for emergencies    Occasional travel to transmitter and translator locationsFlexibility to support operations outside standard business hours when necessary

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $80,000.00-90,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
