Role Overview
The EHS Manager is responsible for leading the implementation, coordination, and ongoing management of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs at the site level. This role partners closely with site leadership and employees to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while promoting a proactive safety culture. The EHS Manager plays a key role in risk reduction, incident prevention, training delivery, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
This job will have the following responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and maintain site‑level health and safety procedures in compliance with applicable regulations and standards
- Conduct compliance reviews, risk assessments, and safety audits; identify hazards and recommend effective mitigation controls
- Manage the selection, purchase, use, inspection, and maintenance of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Oversee and support site Industrial Hygiene programs to ensure regulatory compliance
- Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training and awareness programs
- Participate in incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Establish and manage ergonomic programs, injury case management, and return‑to‑work processes
- Partner with site leadership to promote a strong safety culture, identify trends, and support predictive analysis aligned with EHS Management Systems
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of site EHS objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety, Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5–7 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and consensus standards
- Experience with RCRA, DOT, Tier II, and TRI regulations and reporting
- Ability to collaborate effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization
- Experience supporting operations in a 24/7, multi‑site manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with standard business tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Power BI.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent
- Experience with EHS auditing techniques and internal audits
- Leadership training or demonstrated experience in team building, coaching, and employee engagement
