Overview

A leading regional hospital in Kansas City, MO is seeking an experienced Manager of Emergency Room RN to provide leadership for a high-acuity, Level I Trauma Emergency Department.

This role offers the opportunity to oversee a busy main ED (no multi-department oversight) while guiding clinical practice, operational performance, and patient care excellence. Ideal for an emergency services leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-acuity trauma environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead emergency nursing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care aligned with emergency clinical standards.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and throughput.

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, supplies, and departmental resources responsibly.

  • Support performance improvement initiatives to improve quality, safety, and patient outcomes.

  • Promote a team culture aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.

  • Provide leadership during trauma activations, emergency responses, and high-acuity events.

  • Maintain regulatory compliance and support readiness for accreditation standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute-care ED management experience.

  • Current Missouri RN license or active compact RN license.

  • BLS and ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross).

  • ENPC or PALS required upon hire.

  • TNCC or ATCN required within one year of hire.

Preferred

  • Emergency nursing specialty certification (CEN, TCRN, etc.).

  • Leadership experience within a Level I Trauma Center.
