The Role & Your Impact

As Manager of Technical Service, you will lead the North American Ruminant Technical Service team and ensure the successful delivery of technical expertise across our probiotic, enzyme, feed additive, and silage solutions portfolio. You will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, industry influencers, and internal stakeholders while translating science into measurable customer value.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Technical Service Specialists and subject matter experts.

  • Establish clear priorities, objectives, and development plans aligned with business goals.

  • Develop and execute the North American technical service strategy for ruminant solutions.

  • Partner with Sales, Key Account Managers, Marketing, Regulatory, Product Management, and Innovation teams to accelerate growth and customer success.

  • Provide executive-level technical support for strategic customer opportunities and complex technical challenges.

  • Engage directly with producers, nutritionists, veterinarians, consultants, and industry influencers across North America.

  • Support product launches, technical positioning, customer education, and scientific communications.

  • Oversee technical trials, field validation programs, and research collaborations.

  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving customer needs.

  • Represent Novonesis at industry conferences, customer events, and professional associations.

What You'll Need to Be Successful

Required Qualifications

  • PhD, DVM, or equivalent advanced degree in Animal Science, Dairy Science, Ruminant Nutrition, Veterinary Medicine, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in animal nutrition, animal health, technical services, research, consulting, or related industries.

  • Minimum 5 years of direct leadership experience, including coaching and developing technical professionals.

  • Strong understanding of dairy and/or beef production systems.

  • Demonstrated success partnering with commercial organizations to deliver customer value.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proven ability to lead through influence in a collaborative, matrixed environment.

  • Experience leading geographically dispersed technical teams

  • Knowledge of probiotics, enzymes, silage inoculants, feed additives, or other biological solutions

  • Experience managing technical research programs and field trials

  • Strong background in trial design, execution, and statistical analysis

  • Established industry network among nutritionists, veterinarians, consultants, and producers

  • Experience working within a global or highly matrixed organization

  • Passion for advancing animal health, nutrition, and sustainability through science-based innovation.

  • Travel: Up to 50% domestic travel with occasional international travel, including customer visits, industry conferences, technical meetings, and field engagements.

  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams located across North America and globally.

  • Flexibility to support customers and business needs across multiple time zones.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated salary range: USD $140,000 - $190,000 + 15% target bonus

  • 401(k) with up to a 9% company contribution

  • Minimum of 3 weeks of vacation plus 12 holidays and 2 weeks of Wellness Time
