Job Description

Basic Function: Machine components to print specifications using manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses etc.

Essential Duties:

  • Read and interpret blue prints and follow various work instructions.
  • Set-up and operate various manual machine tools (lathe,mill, grinder etc.)
  • Proficient using measuring instruments and gages.
  • Proficient using various hand tools.
  • Ability to work well with fellow employees including active participation in employee involvement activities and problem solving.
  • Fully support and participate in promoting safety at all times.

Other Duties: Maintain clean, efficient work area. Ability to work well with minimum supervision.

Education Required: High school diploma or GED.

Experience Required: 2 years preferred but not required.

Physical Skill and Effort: Standing, bending, lifting objects weighing up to 30 lbs. for approximately 20 to 50 times during an 8 to 12 hr. work shift. Dexterity required includes the ability to safely work with power and hand tools.

Working Conditions and Hazards: Normal hazards associated with working in a metal fabricating environment. Personal protection equipment required consists of: safety glasses, steel toed shoes and hearing protection. Additional personal protection equipment may be required and is dependent upon the work being performed, and may include: face shield, respirator etc.
