Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will support the repair and maintenance of industrial AC/DC electric motors and generators, using manual machine tools and balancing equipment. Your attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manual machining equipment including engine lathes, horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and related tools
- Use overhead cranes, gantry cranes, forklifts, and associated rigging safely
- Perform precise mechanical measurements using tools such as dial indicators, micrometers, and vibration measurement instruments
- Work according to safety standards and service center procedures
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a machinist in electric motor repair (preferred)
- Proficient in using micrometers and other precision measuring tools
- Skilled in operating various sizes of manual lathes
- Familiarity with electro-plating equipment a plus
- Solid math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to follow and retain training, safety, and operational procedures
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
