Job Description

Job Title: Manual QA Test Engineer Location: Lafayette, Louisiana Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote Hours: 40.0

Responsibilities

Develop and execute test cases, validate functionality across web and mobile platforms, and partner closely with developers and product teams to ensure high quality releases.
Dig into requirements, catch edge cases, and help deliver reliable software in a collaborative Agile setting.
Log and track defects using Jira (or Azure DevOps, Bugzilla).
Perform functional and non-functional testing, and validate data using SQL.
Identify gaps in requirements and think through edge cases to improve test coverage.

Requirements

2+ years of manual testing experience.
Solid understanding of the full testing lifecycle (STLC) and SDLC.
Ability to write clear, thorough test cases, scenarios, and test plans from scratch.
Experience logging defects and tracking issues using Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.
Hands-on testing experience with web and/or mobile applications.
Strong analytical skills to spot gaps in requirements and edge cases.
Working knowledge of SQL to validate data during testing.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in team environments.
Natural curiosity and creativity in finding ways to identify issues.
