Manufacturing - Materials Handler

Job Title: Material Handler Location: Rainsville, AL Duration: 12 months Rate Range: $14 - $15 per hour on W2 Shift:  1st shift- 6A-4:30PM OT is required when needed- 1-2 extra hours on the afternoon and/or Saturdays Job Description

Primary Objective of Position: The Material Handler I will supply lines with raw materials and move unfinished goods through the manufacturing process utilizing a forklift.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures to include proper use of required PPE.
• Operate a stand up and LP forklift safely.
• Supply raw materials where needed in the production process.
• Maintain kit carts where applicable.
• Facilitate movement of product through the production process.
• Adhere to receiving procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of parts and home locations.
• Manage and consolidate inventory in stockroom and other areas as directed.
• Maintain appropriate varnish levels when working in CV.
• Safely operate various industrial ovens when working in CV.
• Participate in physical inventory activities.
• Utilize lift assistance to handle products weighing more than 50 pounds.
• Meet established efficiency and productivity standards.
• Maintain 6S and Lean Manufacturing standards.
• Additional or updated duties as business demands change.

Qualifications

• Ability to complete requirements for Forklift Certification.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Work well with a variety of people.

Must Haves

• Forklift operation experience/certification (stand-up and LP forklift preferred).
• Stand up Forklift experience is required 
• Warehouse/manufacturing and material-handling experience, including inventory and receiving.
• Ability to lift/handle up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication, organization, time management, and safety awareness, with flexibility for overtime and Saturdays.
