Manufacturing Engineer II - Weld

Major PurposePlans, coordinates, and performs manufacturing engineering work for a project or process. Operates in a team environment within either the enterprise product delivery process or the enterprise order fulfillment process. At this level, projects are of moderate scope and responsibility or may be a significant portion of a major and diverse project or process; decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors and/or managers. May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work for support personnel, contractors and suppliers.Major Duties? Contribute to the analysis of information and the specification of the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters.? Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.? Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.? Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.? Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.? Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.? Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.? Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products.? Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.? Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Position Title: 3rd Shift Weld / Manufacturing Engineer

Specific Position Requirements: In this role as a 3rd shift welding manufacturing engineer, you will have responsibilities related to keeping production running during 3rd shift operations in the Fabrication department at Davenport Works. Duties will include but are not limited to, supporting operators, maintenance, and salary support staff. This could include trouble shooting MES systems, automated or manual welding processes, training operators, and other production supporting related tasks. This role will require weekend support depending on production needs.Additional responsibilities will include project or process development and documentation.

3rd shift hours, 10pm to 6am. Overtime will be required. Weekend coverage will be required.-Experience with manual and robotic welding systems. Fanuc Preferred.-Ability to support production through execution of new or existing processes.-Ability to troubleshoot automated and/or manual processes.-Ability to communicate in English, verbal and written.-Ability to navigate ambiguous situations.-Ability to work alone as well as in a group setting.-Ability to follow up with group communications or work tickets.-Ability to document work.-Ability to use Microsoft products such as Excel and Outlook.
