Responsibilities:

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
  • Supports continuous production improvement through quality enhancement, work simplification, material utilization, tooling and equipment improvements, layouts upgrades, and methods and standards.
  • Develops effective and efficient troubleshooting techniques leading to cost effective and lasting solutions.
  • Develops and releases manufacturing engineering documentation that includes manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Confers with design and machine build staff concerning product, equipment, and tooling design to ensure efficient manufacturing methods.
  • Designs, evaluates, and improves manufacturing equipment.
  • Uses computers for CAD designing, documentation and programming manufacturing equipment.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Works with new product development team to ensure that the product design compliments tooling and assembly.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Maintains progress of assigned project responsibilities and stays within budget.
  • Confers with management, quality assurance and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Determines nature of manufacturing problems and implements corrective measures.
  • Maintains an atmosphere of cooperation with other support departments and with production to obtain established goals.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Works to effect cost reduction and to create quality improvement proposals to determine timing, funding and procedures to accomplish proposed projects.
  • Determines staffing requirements, and the allotment of available resources for the proposed projects.
  • Identifies and delivers projects to maximize the benefits from applying in-lining and MRD in the local operation tools are central to plant performance improvement.
  • Contributing member of the local Leadership Team and benchmarks expected outcomes against other facilities and aligns to Divisional priorities.
  • Oversees and manages the Maintenance and Tooling departments.
  • ISO-Understand and follow ISO/AS established programs

Position Skills and Experience Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree (BSME or BSIE) from four-year college or university; and a minimum of five years related experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Hands-on manufacturing experience using automated process in high volume atmosphere that includes Injection molding & related tooling and assembly automation.
  • Good command of English, both written and oral for effective communication with other ITW units and business leaders.
  • Practical experience leading lean manufacturing operations.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and project management skills.
  • Strong business analytical skills, solid financial abilities including working knowledge of budgeting.
  • Exceptional track record of developing and implementing operational plans to improve efficiency.
  • Ability to manage complexity and change.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to lead through influence vs. direct managerial control.
  • Ability to identify and develop future leaders/managers.

Compensation Information:

100,000-130,000
