Job Description
Title: Manufacturing Quality Inspector Location : Erda, Utah Target Start Date : ASAP Type: (C, CTH, D): Contract Join a fast-moving energy technology environment where quality has a direct impact on the reliability and delivery of large-scale products. This position gives you significant ownership on the manufacturing floor, working closely with quality, manufacturing, engineering, operations, and supplier teams. It is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, identifying problems before they become larger issues, and helping improve manufacturing quality from production through shipment.
Job Description: The Contract Manufacturing Quality Inspector will serve as the on-site quality representative at contract manufacturing and supplier facilities. This individual will monitor production activities, perform in-process, final, and pre-shipment inspections, verify products and processes against technical requirements, and identify potential quality issues before they result in product escapes. The inspector will document nonconformances, support containment and corrective actions, verify approved engineering and process changes, maintain accurate inspection and traceability records, and help ensure all quality requirements are satisfied prior to shipment. The position works closely with manufacturing, quality, engineering, operations, and supplier personnel and requires someone comfortable independently making observations, documenting findings, escalating risk, and working within established quality and safety procedures.
Required Skills:
- Experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing, supplier, energy, construction, or related industrial environment
- Experience performing in-process, final, and/or pre-shipment inspections
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, bills of material, work instructions, inspection plans, and acceptance criteria
- Experience identifying and documenting nonconformances and supporting or verifying corrective actions
- Working knowledge of Client processes, inspection methods, traceability, and controlled quality documentation
- Ability to maintain accurate inspection records, photographs, serial-number traceability, and supporting quality evidence
- Ability to identify, contain, document, and escalate manufacturing quality concerns
- Ability to work independently in an on-site manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail, judgment, communication, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to comply with facility safety, PPE, security, confidentiality, and scheduling requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems
Bonus/Soft Skills:
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent practical experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5 10 years of quality inspection, manufacturing, supplier quality, energy, construction, or related industrial experience
- Contract manufacturing experience
- Electrical-mechanical equipment experience
- Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) experience
- Experience supporting NPI, production ramp, first-article, production break-in, or customer-specific builds
- Experience verifying engineering changes, deviations, temporary work instructions, and process changes
- Salesforce Client experience
- Procore experience
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with manufacturing and supplier personnel
