Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for directing the activities of the Sales/Cashiers on assigned shift to ensure the smooth flow of operation of the Desert Oasis Market.
Supervises and directs the activities of the Sales/Cashiers to ensure the smooth flow of operation in the store on assigned shift.
Schedules the Sales/Cashiers breaks and lunches on assigned shift to ensure uninterrupted service.
Sees to it that the stores are well stocked with merchandise for sale at all times.
Sees to it that the Sales/ Cashiers follow the proper selling procedures.
Assigns projects to the staff during slow periods.
Transfers merchandise and supplies from the warehouse to the stores as the need arises.
Assists the Sales/ cashiers in selling and/or operating the cash register during busy periods.
Orders from vendor on a weekly basis.
Assists in the warehousing function as the need arises.
Communicates new policies and procedures to staff and trains new employees as necessary.
Reports to Director on all matters regarding the shift operation.
Sees to it that the stores are kept neat, merchandise properly shelved and displayed and clean at all times.
Resolves customer related problems.
Performs other duties as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
All Employees must be knowledgeable to all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.
Minimum 21 years of age.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Health and Alcohol Awareness cards required.
Must have at least 2 years related experience and/or training.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
Ability to deal with problems involving a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to handle objects; and regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Must have at least 2 years related experience and/or training.

Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
