Job Description

First Orion is looking for a Marketing Analyst to be the analytics engine behind our marketing. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you'll build the dashboards, reports, and attribution models that help leadership understand what's working, what's not, and where to invest next. You don't just pull data - you tell the story behind it and proactively surface the insights that drive decisions.

You'll work across our full martech stack, with a particular focus on querying and modeling data in Databricks and BigQuery, instrumenting and analyzing web behavior through GA4 and Google Tag Manager, and analyzing our CRM data in HubSpot (and Salesforce). A core part of the role is forecasting - modeling how proposed changes to campaigns and budget are likely to perform so leadership can weigh options before committing spend. You'll pair closely with the Marketing Automation Manager, who builds and instruments our campaigns, so that the data behind every report is clean and trustworthy and every program is measured well.

This role works cross-functionally with Sales, Support, and Product, and is ideal for someone who combines a genuine marketing background with strong data skills.

What you'll be doing:

Analytics, Reporting & Dashboards

  • You'll build and maintain marketing performance dashboards and reports that give leadership and cross-functional stakeholders clear, actionable insight. You don't wait to be asked - you proactively build the visibility the team needs and identify the metrics that matter.

Data Modeling in Databricks

  • You'll query and analyze larger datasets in Databricks, build advanced reporting models, and surface trends that aren't visible in standard platform reporting. You're comfortable working with data at scale and writing the SQL to get what you need.

CRM & Campaign Analysis

  • You'll analyze marketing and customer data across HubSpot and Salesforce - campaign performance, funnel and lifecycle metrics, lead quality, and segmentation - and translate it into recommendations. You understand how a CRM is structured and how marketing data flows through it.

Web & Attribution Analytics

  • You'll own the Google analytics stack- GA4 for web analytics and conversion tracking, Google Tag Manager for event and tag instrumentation, and BigQuery for querying raw event-level data at scale - and you'll build attribution models that connect marketing activity to pipeline and revenue.

Budgeting, Tracking & Forecasting

  • You'll track marketing spend against budget and - most importantly - build the forecasting models that help drive planning. When the team is weighing a change (shifting budget between channels, scaling a campaign up or down, or launching something new), you'll model the expected outcome - "if we make these changes, here's what we can expect" - and run multiple scenarios side by side so leadership can compare options and decide with evidence rather than instinct.

Data Integrations & Governance

  • You'll use platform APIs and webhooks to pull, connect, and automate the data you need - getting reliable data out of GA4, BigQuery, HubSpot, Salesforce, and Databricks rather than assembling it by hand. You'll do this within First Orion's implementation and data-governance process: any new connection, integration, or tool is scoped, reviewed, and rolled out through our internal process and in line with company policy, partnering with IT/Security and the automation team so what you build is approved, documented, and maintainable.

Insight & Storytelling

  • You'll turn analysis into a clear narrative for leadership: not just what the numbers are, but what they mean and what to do about them. You proactively flag risks and opportunities before you're asked.

What you'll need:

  • A genuine marketing background - you understand marketing goals, funnels, campaigns, and metrics, not just data in the abstract

  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and BigQuery (and strong SQL) for querying and modeling data at scale

  • Experience working with CRM data, specifically HubSpot (Salesforce experience a strong plus) - you understand how the CRM is structured and how to get reliable data out of it

  • Proficiency with the Google analytics stack- GA4 (event tracking, custom reporting, conversion tracking, attribution), Google Tag Manager for tag/event instrumentation, and BigQuery for raw event-level analysis

  • A genuine passion for building reports, dashboards, and data visualizations - you find satisfaction in making data clear and actionable

  • Comfort building attribution models and connecting marketing activity to business outcomes

  • Experience with budget tracking and forecasting / scenario modeling - you can project the likely outcome of proposed campaign and spend changes to support planning and decision-making

  • Comfort using APIs and webhooks to move data between platforms - pulling from and connecting tools like GA4/BigQuery, HubSpot, and Salesforce to automate reporting and data flows

  • Willingness to work within company policy - scoping and rolling out any new integration or tool through First Orion's internal implementation process rather than around it

  • Strong communication skills - you can explain what the data means to a non-technical audience

  • Self-directed work style - you identify what needs to be analyzed and do it without waiting to be asked

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with BI / visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker)

  • Familiarity with HubSpot's reporting, Data Hub, or custom report builder

  • Background in statistics, experimentation, or A/B-test analysis

  • Experience with forecasting methods, predictive modeling, or marketing/media-mix modeling

  • Background in B2B, SaaS, or telecom/technology industries

  • Exposure to marketing operations or automation platforms (enough to partner well with the automation team)

Company Benefits:

Balancing the work-life flow is key to health and happiness! That is why we offer one of the most competitive packages in our industry with open PTO, company paid holidays, Flex Fridays and flexible work arrangements. We strongly value the health and wellness of our teammates and through our state-of-the-art fitness center we're helping our teammates reach their wellness goals while at work.
