Job Description
Title: Marketing & Social Media Intern
OverviewThe Heathwood Hall Summer Marketing & Social Media Internship is a hands-on, immersive learning experience designed to equip students with real-world marketing skills while intentionally integrating them into our culture and community.
This internship is built on the belief that interns should do meaningful work, receive intentional mentorship, and leave with marketable skills and a clear understanding of how their work contributes to a mission-driven organization.

Learning Objectives & Responsibilities
Learning Objective #1: Build and Analyze a Social Media Plan
Tasks:
- Create and present weekly social media reports
- Analyze engagement, reach, and performance trends
- Track objectives and outcomes using Excel or similar tools
Why This Matters:
- Develops data literacy and analytical thinking
- Builds confidence in using metrics to guide strategy
- Teaches how to set objectives and align tasks to goals
Learning Objective #2: Create Content Using Heathwood Hall's Brand Voice
Tasks:
- Develop 3–5 social media posts per week
- Produce 1 social media reel per week
- Collaborate across departments to capture content
- Assist with basic videography and editing

- Strengthens understanding of brand identity and storytelling
- Builds creative execution and project management skills
- Develops interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
Learning Objective #3: Conduct a Competitive Analysis
Tasks:
- Complete a full competitive analysis of 2–3 peer institutions
- Evaluate brand voice, messaging, engagement, and sentiment
- Compile findings into a professional report and presentation

- Develops research, reporting, and critical thinking skills
- Enhances strategic awareness of market positioning
Capstone PresentationAt the conclusion of the internship, you will deliver a capstone presentation highlighting:
- 2–3 key skills developed during the internship (e.g., data analysis, content creation, strategic thinking)
- Examples of work produced
- Insights gained from the Culture Touchpoint Map
- Reflections on professional growth and career readiness

Internship Details
- Duration: May 20 - August 15
- Time Commitment: 15/20 hours a week
- Compensation: Paid/Stipend
Location: On-site 3 days a week, office hours are flexible from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
