Job Description

Job Summary:

Valmark Financial Group is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive intern to support both Business Development and Communications initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience across data management, marketing operations, digital communications, and internal business processes.

The intern will play a key role in maintaining data accuracy, supporting marketing and communication efforts, assisting with reporting and analytics, and contributing to cross-functional projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in business operations, marketing, and the financial services industry.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Maintain and manage accurate data within Valmark’s CRM, including updating, auditing, and organizing lead and contact records
Support reporting and analytics by compiling data, tracking performance metrics, and identifying trends using Excel and HubSpot
Assist with marketing and communications initiatives, including email campaigns, content updates, and document management within Valmark Connect
Help coordinate and execute communications efforts, including digital outreach, social media support, and physical mailings
Conduct research and support cross-functional projects, including website audits, campaign support, and internal initiatives
Collaborate with Business Development, Communications, IT, and leadership teams to ensure projects and deliverables stay on track

Related Qualities:

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with data and reports
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Creative thinking and problem-solving ability
Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
Interest in marketing, business operations, or financial services
Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Box, or CRM systems is a plus

Requirements:

Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Currently enrolled pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Business Management, Business Operations or a related field
Availability to work onsite in Akron, OH:
- 16–24 hours per week during spring and fall semesters
- 30–40 hours per week during summer months

Pay: $20 per hour
