Marketing / E-Commerce Product Intern

Department: MarketingReports To:

  • New Product Lead & Assistant Marketing Manager (New Product weekly tasks)
  • Assistant Marketing Manager & Marketing Manager (All other marketing tasks)

Position Summary

The Marketing / E-Commerce Product Intern supports the Marketing Team by assisting with new product uploads, product data management, web edits, and digital merchandising initiatives. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product accuracy, consistency, and optimization across the company websites.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This internship offers hands-on experience in e-commerce operations, product marketing, and SEO fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Team Support

Product Descriptions

  • Research and verify product information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Write clear, consistent, and SEO-conscious product headings (H1), subheadings (H2) and SEO paragraphs.
  • Meet weekly S.M.A.R.T. team goals (current target: 525 products per week).
  • Follow established formatting guidelines to ensure uniform website presentation.

Product Data & Research

  • Calculate and enter accurate weights, dimensions, and LTL freight details.
  • Research vendor websites and catalogs to gather up-to-date product information.
  • Update internal systems (MAS/Sage, H1/H2 fields, DS fields, etc.) as needed.
  • Turn product flags on/off based on part requirements.
  • Complete Google Shopping data fields as required.
  • Assist in answering product-related questions and sharing findings with the team.

Product Review & Maintenance

  • Assist with weekly product audits and enhancements.
  • Update product information based on web edits or management direction.
  • Run daily discontinued/out-of-stock reports and follow established SOPs.
  • Submit web edits for facet and Make/Model issues.
  • Conduct regular data audits to ensure accuracy and integrity.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Beginner-level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized
  • Self-motivated and able to stay on task with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working across multiple computer programs
  • 55+ WPM
