Marketing Finance Senior Manager

General Description:

We are seeking a Marketing Finance Senior Manager to join our team. The Marketing Finance Senior Manager serves as the strategic finance partner for the Marketing function, providing financial leadership, analytical insights, and operational support to drive data‑informed decision‑making. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, ROI analysis, and performance tracking across marketing programs. The Marketing Finance Senior Manager ensures financial discipline, facilitates scenario planning, and partners closely with marketing leaders to optimize spend effectiveness and support growth initiatives. This individual will also be expected to liaise with the Finance Department to optimize reporting and interaction including but not limited to supporting internal controls.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

Financial Planning & Analysis:

• Lead marketing annual budget development, quarterly forecasts, and long‑range financial planning.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models for marketing initiatives, campaigns, and headcount planning.
• Provide variance analysis, performance metrics, and commentary on marketing spend drivers.
• Partner with marketing leaders to translate strategic priorities into quantifiable financial plans.
• Support marketing finance communications to Firm and section leaders.

Business Partnership:

• Serve as primary finance advisor to Marketing leadership, offering insights on spend optimization and ROI.
• Analyze campaign and program performance to recommend resource allocation and cost‑savings opportunities.
• Participate in cross‑functional discussions on pricing, events, sponsorships, and brand investments.

Reporting & Insights:

• Develop dashboards and reports that highlight KPIs, budget utilization, and forecast accuracy.
• Own month‑end reporting for the Marketing organization, ensuring accuracy and clear articulation of trends.
• Track vendor spend, contract commitments and support the procurement process as needed.

Governance & Controls:

• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
• Review and approve marketing spend requests, SOWs, and budget transfers.
• Partner with Accounting on accruals, reclasses, and reconciliations.

Leadership & Collaboration:

• Manage, mentor, and develop junior analysts or finance staff (if applicable).
• Facilitate communication and alignment between Finance, Marketing, Analytics, and Procurement teams.
• Lead ad‑hoc financial projects, benchmarking, or scenario analyses as requested by senior leadership.
• Expected to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and full attention to and engagement in work activities on behalf of the firm during business hours unless otherwise approved or required by applicable law.
• Special projects and duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite, or Microsoft 365.
• Strong FP&A capability, including modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Experience with marketing metrics such as, ROI, opportunity conversion, attribution, etc.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate financial concepts for non‑financial stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial systems and BI/reporting tools.

Required Qualifications & Education:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 7-10+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally supporting Marketing, Sales, or commercial functions.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.
