Company Description

For over 100 years, BlueScope continues to build on our reputation of quality brands and products, leading technology and a customer-first spirit. Through our global brands, we are one of the largest manufacturers of building solutions in the world. Our diverse, bright and inspired workforce is committed to bettering the communities we serve through breakthrough thinking and innovations. Your goals, ideas and perspective can help shape our future - we look forward to hearing them!

BlueScope is seeking a strategic marketing leader to drive growth, innovation, and market expansion across our residential building products portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of market strategy, customer insight, product development, channel growth, and planning.

Working with senior leadership and partners across sales, innovation, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, digital, and customer experience, you will help identify high-value opportunities, validate product-market fit, supporting the development of marketing strategies that brings new solutions to market.

What You'll Own

  • Develop the North American growth strategy for the residential building products market.

  • Lead market, segment, customer, channel, and competitive assessments to identify attractive growth opportunities and plays.

  • Define priority customer and influencer segments, including distributors, lumberyards, dealers, roll formers, contractors, builders, architects, designers, and homeowners.

  • Build go-to-market strategies, value propositions, customer journeys, channel models, and activation plans for priority segments.

  • Build a segment demand and forecast model for the residential segment.

  • Validate product-market fit and channel acceptance through customer research, pilots, partner feedback, and stage-gate decisions.

  • Establish scorecards that track adoption, distribution, leads, conversion, revenue, volume, margin, mix, and customer experience.

  • Build a sequenced three-year segment and channel growth roadmap, including capability, resource, technology, partnership, and capital needs.

  • Develop influential relationships with customers, partners, industry organizations, and market influencers.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Shape a growth strategy with impact across the North American residential market.

  • Influence product innovation from early market insight through commercialization and scale.

  • Partner broadly across the business and gain visibility with senior leadership.

  • Help grow brand equity, segment share, customer adoption, and long-term profitability.

  • Work from a flexible U.S. location while staying close to customers, partners, and the market.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

  • 7+ years of experience in strategic marketing, product marketing, commercialization, market development, category management, brand management, or a related commercial function.

  • Experience developing and executing segment, channel, marketing, or go-to-market plans.

  • Proven experience launching new products, solutions, or brands and managing commercialization from planning through execution.

  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with partners in sales, product development, operations, supply chain, or marketing.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience using market research, customer insights, competitive intelligence, and business economics to guide decisions.

  • Demonstrated project management, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.

  • Experience managing marketing budgets, priorities, timelines, and performance measures.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% throughout North America.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building products, residential or commercial construction, construction materials, manufacturing, industrial products, or a related industry.

  • Experience with channel strategy, distributor or dealer networks, contractor-focused marketing, or multi-step routes to market.

  • Experience in category management, segment marketing, portfolio strategy, or market development.

  • Knowledge of residential construction trends, building systems, customer buying behavior, or building code considerations.

  • Experience working with established brands and driving growth through positioning, channel activation, and customer experience.

  • Experience partnering with digital teams to support market growth and improve the customer journey.

  • MBA or other advanced degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
