Master Plumber

Keep reading._________________________________________________________________________________________The Master Plumber is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of sanitation units, water and heating systems, pumps and associated fixtures and appliances in residential and commercial structures. The Master Plumber will have the ability to work independently and solve problems as quickly and efficiently as possible, possess strong technical skills, be a master at troubleshooting, and enjoy working independently and with others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities; however, the Master Plumber may provide technical guidance, hands-on training, and mentorship to future apprentices or developing technicians as future department needs and opportunities arise.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.COMPUTER SKILLSThis position requires the ability to send and receive emails, conduct online research to assist with troubleshooting and product applications, use Word and Excel at a basic level, and learn other applications used in daily business operations. This includes utilizing the resort’s digital work order, ticketing, and inventory tracking systems by phone, tablet, or computer to receive assignments, document work performed, update task status, track materials, and support accurate maintenance records.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSMust have a valid Driver’s License and eligibility for enrollment on the resort’s Motor Vehicle Insurance policy. Must possess State of Vermont issued master or journeyman's plumber’s license. OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong understanding of construction and maintenance practices and safe work practices.OTHER QUALIFICATIONSMust have strong interpersonal and management skills. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme (non-weather) cold, risk of electrical shock, working with explosives and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate but can be loud or very loud.RESORT CONDITIONSThis is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multilevel buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area, and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Workdays and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
