Summary:

As a Material Handler, you will work in a team setting to reach productivity goals. You will perform basic material handling duties including shipping, packing, loading and unloading trailers. Performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards

Core Responsibilities:

  • Pick, Pack and Process completed production accurately and within established productivity standards.

  • Operate Forklift and Pallet Trucks in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Occasionally responsible for loading products onto trucks in a safe manner.

  • Occasionally responsible for unloading products from trucks or ocean containers in a safe manner.

  • Respond to basic Automation faults.

  • Reset pallet counts.

  • Ensure work areas are kept clean, neat and well-organized. By helping direct housekeeping activities within the material handling function.

  • As requested, participate in cycle counting inventory according to the established schedule.

  • Work collaboratively with leaders.

  • Observe all of the ITW safety policies and procedures and participate in the facility safety program.

  • Contribute towards process improvement within job parameters.

  • Perform general warehouse duties as necessary.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Previous experience in order picking and cycle counting procedures, preferred.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

  • Ability to operate forklifts in a safe manner; previous certification, preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in written form effectively with co-workers and other departments.

  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and requires hearing protection. Certain personal protective equipment is required in the manufacturing areas. Reaching, lifting, and/or carrying items are typical in this environment, and packages in the manufacturing environment can exceed 35 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms and regularly required to walk. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Compensation Information:

The hourly rate for this position is $18.40. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Company considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
