Material Handler / Crane Operator
Location: Cocoa Beach, FLShift: 2nd ShiftJob Type: Contract-to-HireStarting Pay: From $22.00/hour + $3.00/hour Shift Differential (higher starting pay may be available based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile Material Handler to support daily operations in both the yard and production areas. This role involves safely moving structural steel materials, operating heavy equipment, assisting with shipping preparation, and providing support wherever needed. The ideal candidate is flexible, safety-focused, and comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Safely move, stage, and organize materials throughout the facility and yard
- Operate overhead cranes to transport structural steel and other materials
- Use forklifts, telehandlers, and Pettibone equipment to move and position loads
- Load, unload, and stage incoming and outgoing shipments
- Assist with trailer movement and yard organization
- Prepare materials for shipment, including skidding and staging
- Operate production equipment as needed to support workflow
- Clean parts and materials for processing or shipment
- Assist with inventory organization and material tracking
- Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment and handling materials
- Support multiple departments as business needs change
- Maintain reliable attendance and contribute to a productive team environment
Qualifications
- Experience operating overhead cranes is required
- Experience operating telehandlers or Pettibone equipment is required
- Material handling, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred
- Experience working with structural steel is preferred
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and similar equipment
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials throughout the shift
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to adapt to changing priorities and perform a variety of tasks
- Comfortable working independently as well as with a team
- Manufacturing or industrial experience is a plus
- Willingness to learn new processes and assist where needed
