Job Description
Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is searching for a safety-oriented Material Handler in our Ashland City, TN manufacturing plant.
Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is part of Arcosa's Inland Barge Group, and is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.
What You'll Do:
- Expedites materials between warehouse and departments.
- Verifies quantity and condition of materials received.
- Stores incoming materials using forklift.
- Picks materials from inventory for distribution and arranges for delivery to work stations.
- Prepares and packages materials for outbound shipments.
- Completes and distributes shipping documents.
- Performs cycle count by reconciling physical inventory with data in automated system.
- Maintains and completes all required records and requires good computer skills.
- Generate reports to establish shortage lists and determine needed materials by interpreting shop drawings or blueprints.
What You'll Need:
- Work requires an understanding of the organization of materials and the location of workstations.
- Must be experienced with operating a forklift.
- Expedite materials between warehouse and production departments.
- Receive and verify quantity and condition of incoming materials.
- Safely store materials using a forklift and pick items for production or shipment.
- Conduct cycle counts and reconcile inventory using both automated and manual systems.
- Generate reports to identify shortages and determine material needs by interpreting shop drawings and blueprints.
- Maintain accurate records and demonstrate strong computer skills.
- Ability to function as a team member; to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
