Job Description
HireLevel is looking for a Material Handler/Warehouse Associate in Sparta, IL.

The Material Handler / Warehouse Associate supports daily warehouse operations by safely receiving, organizing, and shipping products while maintaining inventory accuracy.
Job Category: Temp to hire
Location: Sparta, IL
Hours: Mon-Thurs | 6am-4:30pm and Friday ( Full-time position. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs)
Compensation: $18/hr.

Key Responsibilities for the Material Handler/Warehouse Associate:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Unload, move, and store materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other material-handling equipment.
- Load outbound shipments and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Conduct inventory counts and assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Maintain organized storage locations and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Inspect materials and products for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and follow all company safety procedures.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Assist with warehouse projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills for the Material Handler/Warehouse Associate
- Previous warehouse, material handling, shipping, or receiving experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach All day periods.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery.
