• Perform metallurgical sample preparation and evaluation
• Conduct failure analysis and fractography of metal and plastic components
• Use optical microscopy, digital imaging, and hardness testing equipment to analyze materials
• Execute accelerated environmental, chemical, and coating performance tests
• Analyze test results and prepare clear, data-driven technical reports
• Coordinate testing schedules and communicate results with project leads
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain an organized, efficient laboratory environment

What You Need to Bring to the Materials Engineer Role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering required
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and proper chemical handling practices
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, and welding is beneficial
• Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
• Excellent organizational, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced laboratory environment #metrocareers
