Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Materials Planning Associate / Production Scheduler to join our manufacturing team. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient planning and scheduling of production activities for computers, servers, and other high-tech equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating test and labor capacity, aligning production schedules with customer requirements, and ensuring on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning & Scheduling:

  • Create and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, labor, and test capacity.

  • Monitor work order status and adjust schedules proactively to meet customer ship dates.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and test teams to resolve scheduling conflicts or capacity issues.

  • Capacity Validation:

  • Validate test capacity (equipment and technician availability) to ensure production readiness.

  • Validate labor capacity and work center availability to match production demands.

  • Proactively identify capacity constraints and recommend solutions or escalation paths.

  • Customer Alignment:

  • Review and align internal Planned Ship Dates (PSDs) with customer Required Ship Dates (RSDs) and Promise Ship Dates (PSDs).

  • Ensure all production commitments are realistic and communicated clearly across the organization.

  • Work closely with Customer Service, Sales, and Logistics to keep delivery commitments on track.

  • Data Management & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate scheduling data in Shop Floor Program "ITS"

  • Generate production and capacity reports to support planning decisions and performance tracking.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as schedule adherence and on-time delivery.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in production meetings and contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts.

  • Analyze production trends and suggest improvements to scheduling and capacity planning practices.

Job Level Specifications:

  • Acquires basic skills through work experience or formal training to perform routine tasks.

  • Tasks are routine, repetitive and manual in nature with minimal complexity or variation and specific to the job.

  • Work is performed under supervision with detailed instructions. Priorities are provided for performing work.

  • Interacts mostly with immediate peers within assigned team. Based on nature of the role, may respond to requests from others in the organization.

  • Impact of decisions is primarily contained to the work of the job.

Work Experience:

  • Typically requires less than one year of related experience.

Education and Certification(s):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • APICS CPIM or equivalent certification.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

  • Experience working in a configure-to-order (CTO) or build-to-order (BTO) production environment.
