We are seeking a Materials/Project Management Intern in Huntsville, AL from May 26
through July 31, 2026.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated intern to join our Position, Navigation & Timing team
at Hexagon US Federal. As an intern here, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on
experience in both materials and project management working closely with our team of
professionals. You will be expected to assist with day-to-day operations, contribute to ongoing
projects, and participate in various tasks that support the department’s goals. Additionally, Interns
will participate in weekly speaker series featuring prominent leaders across the organization. This
internship will provide you with valuable exposure to your field of study, offering you a chance to
develop skills, network with professionals, and apply your academic knowledge in a real-world
setting.

Responsibilites:

  • Project Execution: Assist PM with oversight of project teams to ensure successful delivery of key deliverables on time and within budget and scope by ensuring timely allocation of resources, generating project documentation, and facilitating effective stakeholder communication
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that stock is adequate for sales and distribution; maintain accurate records of all incoming/outgoing goods; and define/implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock management, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Procurement Management: Collaborate with production teams to forecast material needs based on production schedules and historical data; conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities; work closely with procurement specialists and logistics to track orders and monitor delivery times from suppliers.
  • Risk Management: Develop risk management policies and procedures related to risk identification, qualitative/quantitative assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Quality Management: Monitor quality of program and contract deliverables and evaluate performance metrics by analyzing and reporting data on timelines, project delays, and lessons learned reviews.

This job is for you if you:

  • You are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Management, or Finance. Candidates should possess excellent time management, communication and organization skills, as well as the ability to effectively coordinate multiple project deliverables on time and budget. Desired skills include experience with MS Office applications to include Excel and Project, basic knowledge of project life cycle and planning methodologies, and a desire to work in a fast-paced, growth-focused corporate setting. Familiarity with inventory management software and supply chain management systems is beneficial.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited institution’s associate’s or bachelor’s program
  • Available 40 hours a week/full-time
  • Located near our Huntsville, AL corporate office
