Math Interventionist (Sy26-27, Middle School)

What You’ll Do

As a Math Interventionist at Veritas Prep, you’ll deliver targeted interventions designed to support middle school students who require additional assistance in mathematics. You will directly work with students to enhance their understanding of core concepts and improve their problem-solving abilities, to ensure they are equipped for success in grade-level math and beyond.

Key responsibilities include:

• Implementing tier 2 and tier 3 math interventions in small group settings based on students' needs.
• Developing and adapting lesson plans that reflect best practices in math instruction and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Using ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Collaborating with classroom teachers to integrate intervention strategies into daily lessons and provide support for struggling learners.
• Providing individual and small group tutoring sessions to reinforce mathematical concepts.
• Participating in regular data meetings to track student progress and share updates with the leadership team.
• Creating a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and motivation in math.
• Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and knowledge in mathematics education.

Requirements

What You’ll Need (Qualifications)

• A strong belief in the potential of all students to excel in mathematics.
• A Massachusetts license in Mathematics (Middle School), or eligibility for such a license.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and a commitment to equity and inclusion in education.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a team-based environment.
• Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform instruction and drive student learning.
• Previous experience in providing targeted math interventions or tutoring is highly preferred.
