Job Title MCA UnderwriterRole Overview The Underwriter plays a central role in evaluating merchant opportunities, balancing speed and sound credit judgment in a high-velocity specialty finance environment. This role partners closely with sales and operations to move quality deals forward while protecting portfolio performance.About our Client Craft has partnered with a highly reputable, growth-oriented specialty finance platform focused on operational rigor, speed-to-decision, and performance-based culture. As one of the premier lenders in the space, they are expanding their underwriting team. Their continued success depends on disciplined underwriting to sustain profitable expansion. Underwriters are critical to ensuring quality approvals, consistent deal flow, and strong risk-adjusted outcomes.Location This position is onsite in NYC or Ridgewood, NJKey Responsibilities- Analyze applications, bank statements, credit reports, and supporting financial documentation.- Evaluate merchant cash flow health, repayment capacity, and risk indicators.- Conduct merchant diligence calls and validate material details as needed.- Issue underwriting recommendations in line with established credit standards.- Partner with internal sales and operations teams to keep deal cadence high.- Maintain clean file documentation and rationale for decisions.- Contribute feedback to improve underwriting playbooks and decision consistency.Required Skills/Experience- 2+ years in underwriting within MCA, revenue-based financing, SMB lending, or adjacent specialty finance.- Strong command of bank-statement and cash-flow analysis.- Ability to make quality decisions quickly in a production environment.- Clear written and verbal communication across cross-functional teams.- Strong ownership mindset and high personal accountability.Nice to Haves- Experience in high-volume broker/ISO channel environments.- Familiarity with fraud indicators and early-warning portfolio signals.- Exposure to mentoring junior underwriters.What's in it for you- Base Salary of $100K - $150K DOE with OTE of $200K to $300K- 401K - Employer Matchhed- Medical, Dental and Vision- Hybrid Work Environment, Weekly Lunch Stipend, Company Hosted Events- Career Development- PTO, Sick and Personal Days- High-visibility role with direct impact on funded quality and growth outcomes.- Full-time, NYC onsite role with strong long-term growth path.
