MEALS ON WHEELS DRIVER - HORIZONS | Cedar Rapids, IA Part-time · M-F, Generally 9:30 am–1:30 pm
About the role
Make a real difference in the lives of older adults and people with disabilities. As a Meals on Wheels Driver for Horizons, you'll deliver warm meals - and a friendly face - to community members who count on your visit.
What you'll do
- Deliver accurate, timely, and temperature-appropriate meals to clients and designated drop-off locations
- Assist in packing coolers, review meal counts before distribution, and load/unload vehicles
- Perform daily safety check-ins with clients and maintain sanitary delivery practices
- Keep vehicles clean and in working order; adhere to all driving laws at all times
- Complete required paperwork and communicate daily progress with your team and supervisor
- Support pantry operations and other tasks as needed
Requirements
- Valid Iowa driver's license and auto insurance
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR check required)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs; walk and stand for extended periods
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Must pass a criminal history and background check and pre- employment drug/alcohol testing
