Meat Cutter

Starting compensation: $23.00 per hour (plus a $1.50 shift differential)

Shift Days: Sunday to Thursday

Shift Hours: 2:30 PM to Finish

This position is responsible for cutting, trimming, boning, tying, and grinding meats to portion and prepare meat in cooking form.

Essential Duties:

• Cutting and trimming boneless, bone in and cutting machine product to reduce to cooking cuts such as roasts, steaks, chops, stew cubes, and grinding meat
• Use of band saw, marelec portioning machine, industrial meat slicer and dicer and ross intervention spray cabinet
• Cutting and weighing steaks and chops for individual servings
• Shaping and tying roasts
• Recording quantity of meat received and issued to cutters
• Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Two-three years related experience and/or training
• Must have the ability of using cutting utensils and running an electric pallet jack or forklift.
• Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which are subject to evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Demands:

• Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds
• Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
