Good luck!Reports To: Shop ManagerHours: 40+ Hours/week SUMMARYThe Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing the required repairs on the Construction fleet of trucks and trailers, which include belly dumps, lowboys, and pups along with various pieces of earthmoving equipment. DUTIESPerform all operations using safety best methods, other operating best methods, and in compliance with JMAC Resources' safety policies and practices
Operate the service truck in a safe and productive manner
Change/Replace wear items on equipment
Perform the following common repairs, such as starters, alternators, water pumps, and hydraulic hoses
Troubleshoot problems
Troubleshoot air system problems on tractors and trailers
Perform the required preventative maintenance schedule on heavy equipment and trucks
Ensure that each piece of equipment is properly serviced and ready to be placed back into production at the start of the next shift
Read and interpret equipment's maintenance manual
Follow directions from immediate supervisor
Work together as a team to complete the task REQUIREMENTSDemonstrated commitment to safety as expressed in JMAC Resources corporate value People First, Safety AlwaysHigh school diploma or GED, supplemented with two years vocational/specialized training in diesel and gasoline heavy equipment repair, and satisfactory completion of at least two classes in mobile hydraulics
Valid Class A Driver's License with clean driving record
Hazmat and tanker endorsements
Familiar with the operation of scrapers, dozers, excavators, blades, articulated dump trucks, and wheel loaders
Ability to read and interpret oil sample reports
Have the ability to work independently with limited supervision
Knowledge of the operation of various pieces of earthmoving equipment/trucks and trailers
Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the work day
Ability to pass background and drug and alcohol tests.
