Job Description

Join our dynamic team in Minneapolis, MN, where you'll be a key contributor in the research, design, and development of cutting-edge mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects, such as Implantable Neurostimulators, External Neurostimulators, and Patient Therapy Remotes, from conception to implementation. You will ensure compliance with industry standards, product requirements, and best practices.In this role, you will be paired with a Principal or Senior Principal R&D engineer who will provide mentorship and day-to-day work direction, helping you to grow and excel in your career. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Plan, design, develop, and verify mechanical and electromechanical systems.
  • Project Management: Support projects through all stages, from R&D to manufacturing, ensuring they meet product requirements, technical specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Recommend and implement approaches to enhance safety, performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of systems, processes, and facilities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical and systems engineers, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Analyze engineering problems, providing in-depth analysis and innovative solutions to improve processes and products.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the creation of prototypes and conduct testing to characterize, refine, and verify designs. This includes design characterization, design verification protocols, analysis, and reports, as well as aspects of test equipment qualification and test method validation.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Prepare detailed engineering documentation and ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and department best practices.
  • Communication and Influence: Communicate effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications: Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. §214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A)) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
