Mechanical Design Engineer - Grand Rapids, Michigan

What you will get to do:
- Receive/Review Project and Product design requirements from Project Engineering (PE).
- Submit concept design to PE for approval and release
- Complete detail design and submit to PE for approval and release
- Bill of Materials
- Sub-Assembly and Detail Drawings
- Design calculations
- Complete Project/Product Documentation and submit to PE for approval
- Demonstrate integrity in all working relationships
- Communicate and cooperate with all other departments in the organization
- Continually improve personal skills through training
- Constantly improve the organization by innovating and implementing new ideas
What will make you successful:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 2 years Machine Design experience
- 2 years Solidworks experience
- Good mechanical aptitude and familiarity with machine design and manufacturing processes
- Ability to apply mechanical engineering standards and techniques
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Willingness to travel on a limited basis as required
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Required to view near and distant objects. The employee must have color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
