DESIGN ENGINEER, Mechanical Work Schedule: Home/Office--50/50% RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and develop Special Service Tools in support of customer Tool program. Create 3D Models and 2D Mechanical Drawings (CAD) Gather tool requirements and application information Develop tooling concepts and solutions Develop tool mock-ups, prototypes (e.g. 3D printing) Coordinate with machine shops and other suppliers for prototype fabrication Test and validate tools on vehicles or vehicle subsystems Document legacy tools where existing documentation is deficient
