Mechanical Design Engineer Must Have: Inventor software 3-5 years (must have)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Designer / Fire Protection Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing fire suppression systems, fire pumps, and specialty packages. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial fire protection systems, strong technical skills, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-quality construction documents in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design fire protection and fire suppression systems, including pumps and specialty packages.
- Prepare system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and complete production drawings in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Perform accurate design calculations.
- Assist in the preparation of contract specifications.
- Review drawings for compliance and accuracy.
- Provide technical information and design support to project managers.
- Coordinate system designs with other disciplines, consultants, etc.
- Make recommendations regarding system feasibility, equipment selection, and product applications.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fire protection design (5+ years preferred).
- Inventer software 3-5 years (must have).
- Experience in the fire industry or construction prefererd.
- Industrial fire protection experience strongly preferred.
- Experience designing water tanks, pumps, valves, and plumbing; fire pump–specific experience highly preferred.
- Basic understanding of Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Structural construction practices.
- Minimum 3 years of Inventor Software experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient data entry and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to shifting project needs.
- Highly organized with a strong ability to track and manage technical information.
