Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer IVLocation: Greenville SC 29615Duration: 8+ MonthsPay rate range: $60.00 - $62.87/hourJob Description:
- HGP Design Liaison Engineer - Finite Element Analysis & Lifing
- Use ANSYS Classic to model and run mechanical lifing analysis for various defects in Gas Turbine rotating blades.
- Use NX to manipulate models and modify geometry
- Post-Process, document, and present analysis results to technical team
- Use various other lifing tools and templates to complete engineering evaluations
- Understand and follow mechanical design practices and templates
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
- ANSYS Classic
- ANSYS Finite Element Analysis
- Humble, open-minded, self-motivated, and a continuous learner
- NX Solid Modelling
- Relevant mechanical engineering experience designing gas turbine hardware or similar rotating machinery, specifically hot gas path components.
- Solid understanding of Engineering Mechanics and Failure Modes (LCF, Creep, HCF)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Gas Turbine engineering experience (specifically Hot Section components)
- Manufacturing experience
- Well versed in lean manufacturing methods and statistical process control
- Background on HGP components, especially rotating turbine blades
- Ability to build trust with team members and interfacing organizations
- Experience and familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes
- Customer satisfaction mindset with strong Quality orientation
- Excellent teamwork, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability and willingness to challenge the status quo and deliver the best products
