️ Mechanical Designer – Aerospace ManufacturingLocation: Medford, OR (Onsite)

Duration: 18-month contract

Overview:A growing aerospace engineering team is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the development of aircraft systems, assemblies, and components. This role is ideal for a hands-on CAD professional with extensive SolidWorks experience and a strong background in design for manufacturing, particularly within regulated aerospace or defense environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and model mechanical components, systems, and assemblies in SolidWorks

• Create 2D/3D drawings, BOMs, layout studies, and technical documentation to FAA/AS9100 standards

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to optimize designs for performance and manufacturability

• Conduct tolerance stack-ups and ensure compliance with GD&T practices

• Participate in prototyping, installation fit checks, and shop floor validation

• Support lifecycle processes including design reviews, change management, and production engineering

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation per internal and regulatory standards

Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of mechanical design experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing settings

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (required); experience with AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar tools a plus

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or equivalent experience

• Strong understanding of DFM, GD&T, and engineering documentation practices

• Prior experience with aircraft structures, assemblies, or FAA-regulated projects preferred

• Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and strong team collaboration skills

• Onsite position; must be able to work from the production facility in Medford, OR

• Must be able to obtain any required background clearances
