Job Description
A manufacturing company is seeking a motivated Mechanical or Electrical Engineering student to join our team as a Summer Intern. This role will support and lead continuous improvement initiatives within our Electrical Motor Distribution Center and Modification Shop. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support continuous improvement (CI) projects within the distribution center and modification shop
- Analyze current workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and quality
- Assist in electrical motor inspection, modification, and testing processes
- Support implementation of lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives
- Collect and analyze operational data to support decision-making
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and shop floor teams
- Document processes and recommend standard work improvements
- Participate in problem-solving initiatives related to equipment and process performance
