Job Details

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing automated machinery and capital equipment from initial concept through production release. This role owns mechanical design deliverables and collaborates closely with internal teams to ensure equipment meets quality, safety, cost, and performance requirements.

This position plays a critical role in supporting both new product development and ongoing improvements to existing equipment.

Responsibilities:Design and develop automated machinery and capital equipment using 3D CAD softwareOwn mechanical design deliverables from concept development through production releaseProduce detailed technical drawings, design documentation, and engineering specificationsPerform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and design validationSelect mechanical components and manage bills of materials (BOMs)Apply design-for-manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) principles to optimize cost and production efficiencyProvide engineering support to manufacturing, service, and field teams to resolve technical issuesCollaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, planning, quality, and suppliersMaintain and improve internal engineering standards, design processes, and workflowsSupport continuous improvement initiatives and additional engineering projects as needed
