Job Overview

Lead engineering projects to develop, maintain and support operator cab components and cab systems. Design, develop and release engineering solutions requiring guidance only in controversial circumstances. Provide conceptual and strategic solutions for new product design and support current existing product design needs.

Key Job Responsibilities

• As a Cab Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and validating cab components that support mechanical, electrical and hydraulic system functions, everything from metal fabrications, non-metallic parts, mechanisms, harnesses and hoses.
• Design, develop and release Continuous Product Improvement solutions for existing machine fleets to ensure compliance with global standards for design and safety of products and services, as well as engineering best practices.
• Research and develop future cab product design improvements and support New Product Introduction initiatives specified by Management team.
• You'll work closely with external suppliers and internal electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical teams to develop cab component and system solutions.
• Participate with a diverse group of people as required to achieve common goals
• Achieve project timeline, cost, quality goals while and clearly communicating status to stakeholders.

Qualifications/Requirements

• 5+ years' experience in engineering design, engineering and manufacturing, highly focused on cab systems and components in mobile machine or mining equipment
• Sound knowledge cab system and component technologies, preferred.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant industry experience is required.
• Proficient in the use of Creo, to design from concept to production, required
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
• Experience collaborating with suppliers to specify and select components desired.
• Ability to self-manage multiple priorities and projects is required
• Team and project leadership experience is highly desired
• Knowledge of GDMS and existing KOMATSU releasing process is highly desired
• Knowledge of Microsoft office tools especially Excel
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential

Additional Information

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $82,000 - $102,500. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
